STeeling the Show
The natural beauty of stained cherry cabinets is combined with new stainless steel appliances to create a stunning blend of form and function. Add a diamond shaped slate backsplash, and the beautiful tones of gray, blush pink and steel blue resonate throughout the space.
By taking the cabinets to the ceiling and adding fascia board and Shaker style crown molding, much-needed storage space is created throughout the entire room. The “eat in” area in the kitchen is maintained, and a desk/display area give the homeowners the option to use the kitchen as more than just a spot to prepare meals.
A new GE Monogram stainless steel range replaces the small cook top and wall oven, and a 36” Duel Fuel Professional Range give the homeowners the style and function they were looking for, complete with a stainless hood and backsplash. Other new appliances include a dishwasher, microwave, and refrigerator.
A new circular countertop features Vela Brown Zodiaq quartz countertops, and is supported by a 12” round stainless steel post. Stainless bar height stools with an “X” back compliment the stainless pedestal leg, the appliances and cabinet hardware, and the “X” shape itself is echoed in the slate tiles set on a diagonal.
Three base corner Lazy Susans incorporated into the “turns” in the kitchen utilize otherwise blind areas, increasing the functionality and durability of the corner cabinets.
By rethinking how this kitchen was used, the homeowners and kitchen designer came up with new ways to enhance ample but uninviting space. The richly color coordinated new kitchen will give the homeowners many long years of return on their investment.
